Christmas Crafts
It's been a long time since I posted anything here, not because I haven't been making, just because most of the things I have been making are for Christmas presents and I am worried that certain naughty people might look when they have been told not to (you know who you are!). But hey, I want to share with you, so here goes.
I have made some little tweed robins, stuffed with cloves for a festive aroma. These can be hung on the tree or just hung around the house. They are not obviously Christmassy either so they can be left up all year.

I have also made some lavender cats from wool and felt.

Inspired by my own cat, Fifi, who doesn't seem too impressed. This is not unusual for her. She likes to sit on her two floral cushions, (like the princess and the pea), on the dresser in the kitchen and look down her nose at her sister, Bella, and brother, Hebe who are lesser cats than she!

A mohair corsage and an alpaca and silk corsage. Not sure if I like it with or without leaves. I tried to crochet some leaves with no success so opted for the felt ones. If anyone has a pattern for crochet or knitted leaves do let me know.

I love making things at this time of year. It is so nice to sit in the kitchen in the evenings with the Aga on, watching 'I'm a celebrity' and sipping mulled wine. Ahhhhhhh happy days

Wow - you've been busy! Love the little birds - very sweet, and I like the corsage with the leaves best - nice contrast in colour & texture.
Hello - its been while but I am still here! I love your christmas crafts they really are fab! Do you have any spare tweed birdies, I would love to buy one from you :). I try to get at least a couple of new things each year...
Those tweed robins are lovely.I saw some in a magazine the other day and thought I might make some too.Great minds think alike!
I love that robin, especially its legs, and what a good idea to add cloves for the seasonal scent.
The bodyless cats made me laugh!
Toby has made a couple of things on the sewing machine with the fabric you sent him, he is waiting for a few more days before posting them on our blog as one of the items is a little lavendar bag he made as a birthday present, and, as you said, there may be prying eyes!

Dear Dons,
I've been catching up on blogs and have just seen your Robin. I just love everything you do and make!
If you ever every decide to sell your Robins for good money, then please please please can I purchase one off you? Oh, and one of those corsages too - so much better than buying one in a shop!

Many thanks

I love the little robins. What a good idea to stuff them with cloves. I think the coursages look better without the leaves.
Your cat is gorgeous but I see what you mean, definitely doesn't look impressed!
There are some crochet leaves here: http://www.theanticraft.com/archive/beltane06/maidensglory.htm although I don't know how they'd go size-wise, and if they'd be any good.
Lovely corsages and what a gorgeous cat - she's definitely the boss isn't she?!
