WIP Friday

Hooray I'm on time this week!

I am making bags for Christmas presents again. This time I am making tweed and wool shoulder bags from a pattern downloaded from this clever lady. I have almost finished one, apart from the decoration which I feel needs a little something else. This one is made from some thrifted grey wool suiting material and some vintage blue and black polka dot cotton, finished off with a vintage tweed button.

This pile of fabric is for the next one, watch this space ............

The bag is just GORGEOUS! The colours/fabric choice are perfect. And you know, I have had the same pattern printed off for some time now and still haven't even got looking at it! Good on you for getting some inspiring production done!

Hi Max
Well I'm not surprised you haven't made one yet, you have a major production underway at the moment! Thanks for your comments sweetie x

Have you seen the bags made from suits, which still have the suit shape? so the bag is the top half of the jacket inc lapels, buttons, breast pocket, maybe hankie etc I know someone who bought one last year, we saw some in Covent Garden a couple of months ago. There were pin striped ones, tweeds, alsorts. Just reminded me when you said you used suit material. I like the spotty lining on yours.

Great bag - I've got one of these on my to-do list. Amazing how different fabric makes them so individual - love your cheery polkadots.
