Baby quilts

Just before little Elizabeth's arrival I had time to make some quilts for her. Alfie had just started school so I had a few hours in the day. I made one for her cot in pink and blue squares, backed with pink and white polka dots and one for her pram in log cabin, backed with brushed cotton. I quilted her cot quilt with hearts and appliqued some hearts around the border. You will find with much of my work that pinks, blues, polka dots and hearts feature heavily. It's just the kinda girl I am!

These are gorgeous - really lovely, and will be heirlooms.

I've only done a bit of patchwork - my sister and I made a v. large bedspread for my parents' 40th anniversary. I enjoyed it - should do more. LG quite fancies an all-black patchwork - different shades/textures/patterns - but all black. Excellent idea! Not at all "you" though, I'm sure!

Beautiful Dons. I made some for Nathan before he was born..a real labour of love, they were...but mine were in bright 'boy' colours and full of jungly things...it was fun doing it.

I'd love to learn how to patchwork though, and make myself a grand, luxurious, velvety, satiny, quilt. But it's hard to sew velvet, isn't it? You have done it, I know. I remember your blog on that bag you did...superb bag, btw!
